Paul Reynolds has been selling houses in Cramlington
since 1977, so when we say you are
‘Moving with
experience’, it is backed up with an unrivalled
knowledge of the housing market in Cramlington and its
surrounding area. Having previously worked for other
agents, Paul set up on his own and established Reynolds
& Brown in 1983, changing its name to Renown in 1990.
Trading from attractive premises in Smithy Square, Paul
established a successful estate agency based on
straight-forward but professional advice and service,
principles that have underpinned the growth of the
business. The housing market has seen radical changes
over this time, but Paul’s philosophy of recruiting
knowledgeable and professional staff has meant clients
looking to sell their house benefited from sound,
practical advice, backed up with experience. Paul’s
sales team is currently headed by Sheila Rutherford who
has worked in the industry for 20 years, whilst
negotiators Denise Ackroyd and Paul’s daughter Katherine
both live locally, giving them a good insight of the
Cramlington market.
In 1999, Paul added an independent mortgage advice arm
to the business and today in Liz Garbutt, is alone in
Cramlington in having a resident adviser in place to
discuss the mortgage and insurance needs of homebuyers
and investors alike. It was a natural progression for
the Estate Agency and it provides a seamless service for
both buyers and sellers.
Your
property may be repossessed if you do not keep up
repayments on your mortgage
You can choose how we are paid for our mortgage advice;
pay a fee, usually 0.5% of the loan amount, or we can
accept commission from the lender
Paul was also keen to capitalise on the growing ‘buy to
let’ market and added Paul Booth to his team in 2004 as
Renown’s Property Lettings Manager. This side of the
business has seen phenomenal growth over the last 4
years, so much so that Renown is now Cramlington’s
number 1 letting agent. That said, Renown’s portfolio of
managed let properties stretches well beyond Cramlington
with Paul Booth looking after let properties in Morpeth,
Blyth, Dudley, Annitsford, Kingston Park, Newcastle,
Ponteland and has been particularly successful in
letting properties at new estates in Ashington. With the
buy to let market continuing to be strong, plans are in
place to move into the Whitley Bay and North Tyneside
area by teaming up with the coast’s leading estate
agent.
Finally, Paul wanted to add a commercial section to his
business. When Paul’s then Bank Manager Paul Barwick
(we’re all called Paul here!) said he was leaving Lloyds
TSB, the opportunity to recruit someone with knowledge
and many years experience of businesses in the North
East allowed the launch of the Commercial Department in
2005. A more specialised sector of the market, the sale
and let of commercial premises, the sale of businesses
as going concerns as well as a commercial finance
broking service sees Renown now offering a full
complement of services to clients in not only
Cramlington, but across the whole of Northumberland &
North Tyneside.
